George Leach started working on guitars in 1988, and first went into business under the name of “GSL Guitars”. In 1994, he changed the name to the Phoenix Guitar Company, and decided to open a store in Phoenix . The store specialized in building custom instruments and repairs, and quickly became well known as a great place to either get an instrument built, or get one repaired.
